Our School History

Our school opened at the start of the school year of 1988.

Croydon Hills PS was the first school in Victoria to be built using a new approach.  All previous schools were built by the Public Works Department.  Croydon Hills PS was fortunate to be Architect Designed and built after going to tender by a commercial builder. This resulted in the outstanding original buildings still providing great learning spaces today.

Ken Baxter was the first Principal and is conducting the first assembly.

The Building was nearly complete but needed a few finishing touches.

This is the School Brochure which was created as part of the planning for the school.

The Croydon Mail newspaper had this article regarding the schools opening.

The Staff List for the first year of operation, 1988.  There are still some names who work at the school, though only on a casual basis now.

The bushes being planted in the courtyard are still there today.
