At Croydon Hills Primary School, we deliver a comprehensive curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum.
The Victorian Curriculum F–10 sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is the common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship. The Victorian Curriculum F–10 incorporates the Australian Curriculum and reflects Victorian priorities and standards.
Teachers at Croydon Hills Primary School address the key learning areas of English and Mathematics in dedicated time allocations. There is specialist provision for Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Library, Indonesian and Science. Prep students also participate in a Sensory Motor Gym (SMG) subject which develops and builds upon gross motor skills. Other curriculum areas such as Civics & Citizenship, Humanities, Technologies and The Capabilities are addressed through Inquiry Units of Work.
To manage the curriculum and our emphasis on strong literacy and numeracy skills, the teachers at Croydon Hills Primary regularly meet in teams to plan the integrated units of work.
